How to get a past case reference from investigations
To get a past case, background check, audit, etc from the investigations team you must first be given access to the investigations server. Your 1ic, 2ic, and 3ic should be the ones to give you this. You'll receive the role "Advisor" or "Senior Appeals" depending, Basically to request a file you must get it from the investigations team directly with approval from the investigations team, as some information may be sensitive. You request what you need to know or the entire case in the case request channel provided to you.
How to request an investigation on someone
Usually, the investigation would be requested upon the staff appeal or the heavy punishments appeal. Basically, it gives a notice to the investigators that they need to investigate someone. If you have this then you are allowed to use it, even outside of appeals, technically. The request is always possible to be denied due to sensitive information but most of the time they'll give you a full detailed report of what you need to know or forward it from the case on there end.
Formalities (See Case Example 1 for examples of usage)
Formalities are a good way to show respect. They are required during cases, and they ought to be respected as such. There are a very wide variety of titles/formalities that are used during trials in the American and Russian systems, which is what it's based on.
